Verse 1

I spent my years providing, keeping everyone safe

A good man at the table, working, holding the weight

I loved them, yes I loved them, that was never the question

But somewhere in the giving I lost my own direction

Verse 2

There was a moment early, a shadow in the hall

A little boy who learned to brace himself against the wall

I never spoke about it, I carried it alone

And built my life around the need to never be alone

Pre-chorus

Then it all came down

The life I thought was mine

And in the rubble I could see

The pattern for the first time

Chorus

I was living through the eyes of someone else

Searching for my safety on another's shelf

I gave myself away before I knew my name

I finally see — and I won't do it again

I finally see — and I'm learning who I am

Verse 3

I found someone and gave her everything I had

I watched her face for signals — good or bad

I built my world around her, forgot to build my own

Until the ground beneath me said — it's time to come home

Verse 4

When someone disappears without a word or a sign

The alarm inside my body says — you're running out of time

It's not the present danger, it's the ghost of long ago

A little boy who learned that silence means — let go

Bridge (pomalejší)

It wasn't their fault

It wasn't mine either

Just patterns repeating

from child to believer

But now I can see it

and seeing is power

This is not my ending

this is my hour

Final chorus

I was living through the eyes of someone else

Searching for my safety on another's shelf

I gave myself away before I knew my name

I finally see — and I won't do it again

I finally see — and I'm coming home again

I finally see — and I'm learning who I am

Outro (tiché)

Not from fear

But from the ground

Not from loss

But from the found

Za oponou

Léta jsem žil pro druhé. Pracoval, zajišťoval, držel rodinu pohromadě. Miloval - to nikdy nebyla otázka.

„It wasn't their fault. It wasn't mine either. Just patterns repeating from child to believer."

Cuban jazz s živým rytmem a dechovkou není náhodný výběr. Tato hudba mi v těle vyvolává přesně to, co potřebuji: hloubku bez tíže, radost s kořeny, pohyb bez útěku.

„It's not the present danger, it's the ghost of long ago."

Pokud znáš tento pocit — tento song je i tvůj.
